Link building that earns backlinks worth keeping.

Editorial placements and digital PR built on genuine topical relevance. Fewer backlinks, from sites that make sense for your business, acquired in ways that will not need cleaning up in two years.

Problems this service solves

Backlink volume is easy to buy. Relevance is not.

Backlinks remain one of the strongest ranking signals, which is exactly why the shortcuts are so heavily policed. Most link problems are not scarcity, they are irrelevance accumulated cheaply.

01

A profile built on volume

Hundreds of backlinks from directories and low-quality sites sharing no topic with your business. They add risk without adding relevance.

Topical relevance
02

Anchor text that looks purchased

Commercial keywords repeated across dozens of placements. Natural profiles are mostly brand and URL mentions, and the difference is measurable.

Anchor text
03

Nothing worth linking to

Nothing on the site is worth referencing, so outreach becomes asking strangers for favors rather than offering something useful.

Linkable assets
What a weak backlink profile costs
A ceiling you cannot write past

Beyond a certain competitiveness, content quality stops being the constraint and domain authority becomes the binding limit.

Cleanup costs later

Backlinks acquired cheaply often need disavowing or removing, which is slower and more expensive than never acquiring them.

Wasted content investment

Excellent pages nobody references stall below competitors with weaker content and stronger backlink profiles.

What is included

What link building includes: eight areas.

Link building that lasts is mostly preparation. Most of the work here happens before a single outreach email is sent.

08areas covered
on every engagement
01Backlink profile audit+
Every referring domain assessed for topical relevance, real traffic and risk, so we know what you actually have rather than what a tool counts.
02Competitor backlink gap analysis+
Which relevant domains link to competitors and not to you, filtered to the ones realistically reachable.
03Linkable asset development+
Identifying what your business knows that others do not, and shaping it into something editors have a reason to reference.
04Digital PR outreach+
Genuine pitches to publications covering your sector, built on relationships rather than bulk sending.
05Editorial link placements+
Contributed articles where they make sense, on sites with genuine readership rather than link farms.
06Anchor text planning+
Distribution planned across brand, URL and descriptive anchors so the profile reads naturally as it grows.
07Internal link distribution+
Making sure authority arriving at any page reaches the commercial pages that need it. Overlaps with on-page SEO.
08Toxic backlink review+
Identifying links carrying genuine risk and handling removal or disavow, without the paranoia that leads to disavowing useful links.

Buying backlinks is fast. Keeping rankings is the hard part.

Almost every backlink problem I inherit was created by a service optimizing for the number on the invoice rather than the durability of the result.

The authority plan

Your current backlink profile assessed, the realistic gap identified, and a targeted acquisition plan with anchor text distribution mapped over time.

  • Every existing domain assessed for relevance and risk
  • Reachable competitor domains identified
  • Anchor text distribution planned, not improvised
  • Cleanup list where links carry genuine risk

Placement log

Every backlink acquired, named, with the publication, date, anchor text and why it was relevant.

Linkable asset

The piece, data set or tool built to give editors a genuine reason to reference you.

Internal distribution map

How authority arriving at any page should flow to the commercial pages that need it.

Case study

Fewer backlinks, better positions.

A site had accumulated several hundred referring domains through a previous volume service. Almost none were topically relevant, and rankings had been flat for a year despite continued spend.

Auditing the profile found a small number of genuinely risky links and a great many useless ones. After cleanup, a single well-researched data piece earned eleven relevant placements over three months, and the commercial pages receiving internal distribution moved for the first time in eighteen months.

Project fit

Best when content is strong but authority is not.

A strong fit when

  • Your content matches competitors but positions do not
  • A previous link service left a profile you are unsure about
  • You have data, experience or a story worth publishing
  • You compete in a market where everyone has good content
  • You want to know exactly where every backlink came from

Another service may suit better

  • Google cannot crawl your site, making technical SEO first
  • You have very little content, so content strategy comes first
  • Your competition is local, where local SEO moves faster
  • You want a fixed number of links per month at a fixed price
  • You want links from PBNs, which I will not use

Not sure which applies? Send your URL and I will tell you honestly which service fits, including when the answer is neither. Compare all ten services.

Frequently asked questions

Link building questions, answered plainly.

01What is link building?+
Link building is the practice of earning backlinks from other websites to increase a site's authority in search. Legitimate link building relies on editorial placements and digital PR, where a publication references your content because it is genuinely useful to their readers. The two factors determining whether backlinks help are topical relevance and whether the linking page has real traffic. Buying links from private blog networks creates a liability that eventually has to be cleaned up.
02Do you buy backlinks or use PBNs?+
No. Paid placements on private blog networks create a liability that eventually has to be cleaned up, usually at a worse moment than now.
03How many backlinks will we get?+
I will not promise a number, because the honest answer depends on what we have to offer editors. Campaigns typically produce somewhere between six and fifteen relevant placements over a quarter.
04How long before backlinks affect rankings?+
Individual links rarely move anything immediately. Effects usually become visible between two and four months, as the profile shifts rather than as any single placement lands.
05What is a linkable asset?+
Something an editor benefits from referencing: original data, a genuinely useful tool, or expertise nobody else in your market has published. Without one, outreach is just asking for favors.
06Should we disavow our old backlinks?+
Sometimes, but less often than people fear. Most useless links are simply ignored by Google. I separate genuinely risky from merely worthless before recommending anything.
07Can you guarantee placements on specific sites?+
No, and anyone who does is either buying the placement or overstating their influence. I can tell you which targets are realistic before we start.
08What happens to the backlinks if we stop working together?+
They stay. Editorial placements are permanent by nature, which is precisely why they are worth more than rented ones.
A deeper explanation

Why link building is mostly about having something worth linking to

Backlinks remain among the strongest signals in search because they are hard to fake convincingly. That difficulty is the point. Any approach making acquisition easy is, by definition, producing links that carry less weight and usually more risk. The durable version of this work is less about outreach technique and more about giving people a genuine reason to reference you.

Topical relevance decides value

A backlink from a site covering your industry, on a page people actually read, carries more weight than fifty from unrelated directories. Raw referring domain counts are a poor comparison because they treat both as equivalent. When I compare your profile against a competitor, I filter both to relevant, trafficked sources, and the gap is usually smaller and far more addressable than the headline number suggests.

Anchor text is a fingerprint

Natural backlink profiles are dominated by brand names, bare URLs and descriptive phrases. Profiles built through paid placement tend to over-represent commercial keywords, because that is what the buyer asked for. The pattern is straightforward for Google to detect, and correcting it takes considerably longer than creating it did.

Outreach without an asset does not scale

Editors receive a great many requests. What separates a pitch that gets a reply from one that does not is whether accepting it makes their publication better. Original data, genuine expertise or a tool their readers would use gives them that reason. Nothing else reliably does.

Authority has to reach the right pages

Coverage linking only to your homepage helps less than most people expect. The commercial pages that need to rank are usually several clicks away, receiving whatever internal linking happens to send them. Planning how external authority is distributed internally is often where the actual ranking movement comes from. If your content is strong and positions are not, a short call will establish whether authority is genuinely the constraint.
