Local SEO services that get you into the Google map pack.

Local search is decided mostly outside your website. Google Business Profile optimization, category selection, citation consistency and review velocity settle the local pack, and the local pack settles the phone call.

Problems this service solves

A better website loses to a better-managed Google Business Profile.

Google ranks the local pack on relevance, distance and prominence. Your website contributes far less to those three than most business owners expect.

01

The primary category is wrong

Your Google Business Profile primary category is the single strongest local ranking factor. It is usually chosen once at setup and never revisited, and it limits which searches you are eligible to appear for at all.

GBP category
02

NAP details disagree across directories

Your name, address and phone number differ between Google, Yelp, Apple Maps and industry directories. Every inconsistency weakens confidence in which record is correct.

03

Reviews arrive in bursts

A cluster after a good month, then silence. Review recency and velocity both feed local ranking, and neither improves without a process that runs when everyone is busy.

Reviews
What weak local visibility costs
Invisible on near me searches

A customer searching nearby with immediate need is the highest-intent traffic available. Outside the three-pack, that call goes to whoever is in it.

Paying for clicks you could earn

Running Local Services Ads or paid search on terms a maintained profile would rank for organically is an ongoing tax on neglect.

Multi-location drift

Without a governance process, every new location repeats the same setup errors and the problem scales with the business.

What is included

What local SEO includes: eight areas that move the pack.

Local SEO is part website and part operations. This covers both, because the profile and review side usually moves faster than anything on your pages.

08areas covered
on every engagement
01Google Business Profile optimization+
Categories, services, attributes, hours, photos and business description, reviewed against what actually ranks for your priority terms rather than a generic checklist.
02Category and service area strategy+
Primary and secondary category selection is the highest-leverage local decision available, and the one most often left at whatever was picked on day one.
03Citation audit and NAP cleanup+
Every directory carrying your name, address and phone number found, mismatches flagged, and corrections prioritized by the weight each source carries.
04Review generation and response+
Request timing, message templates and a response routine covering positive and negative reviews, built to run without daily attention.
05Location pages+
Genuinely distinct pages per location with local proof, embedded directions and service detail, not one template with the city name swapped.
06Local schema markup+
LocalBusiness structured data matching your profile exactly, so the two sources reinforce rather than contradict each other.
07Local link and mention building+
Relationships with local organizations, suppliers and press that produce genuine citations. Related work sits in link building.
08Local rank tracking and reporting+
Map pack position by term and location, calls, direction requests and review velocity, reported against inquiries rather than impressions.

Approaches compared

Most local SEO stops at the website.

Local rankings are decided by a mix of profile management, third-party consistency and review behavior. Treating it as a website discipline explains why so much local work underdelivers.

Local rank tracking

Map pack position by term and location tracked over time, so you can see movement rather than guess at it.

Case study

Categories corrected, map pack position gained.

A service business with a strong website was invisible in the map pack across most of its priority terms, while competitors with far weaker sites appeared consistently.

The Google Business Profile primary category had been chosen at signup years earlier and no longer matched what the business sold. Correcting it, completing the service list and starting a review routine moved seven priority terms into the pack within two months, without a single change to the website.

Project fit

Best when customers search near me.

A strong fit when

  • You serve customers from a physical location or defined service area
  • Competitors with weaker websites outrank you in the map pack
  • You have multiple locations and no consistent process across them
  • Reviews arrive sporadically and nobody owns the process
  • You are spending on local ads for terms you could rank for

Another service may suit better

  • You sell nationally or online only, where e-commerce SEO fits better
  • Your site cannot be crawled properly, making technical SEO the first step
  • You need a full diagnosis first, which is the SEO audit
  • You want fake reviews or listings, which I will not do
  • You are looking for guaranteed rankings on a fixed date

Frequently asked questions

Local SEO questions, answered plainly.

01What is local SEO?+
Local SEO is the practice of improving visibility for location-based searches and placement in the Google Business Profile map pack. It is decided largely outside your website: category selection, profile completeness, proximity, citation consistency across directories, and review volume and recency. For most US local businesses, correcting the Google Business Profile category and starting a consistent review process moves map pack position faster than any change to the website itself.
02How long does local SEO take to work?+
Profile and category changes can move map pack position within two to six weeks because those signals update quickly. Citation cleanup and review velocity take longer, usually around three months before the effect is clear.
03Why is my Google Business Profile not showing in the map pack?+
The most common causes are an unverified or suspended profile, a primary category that does not match the search, distance from the searcher, thin review volume, or duplicate listings confusing Google about which record to trust. Each has a different fix, so diagnosis comes before action.
04What is NAP consistency and does it matter?+
NAP means name, address and phone number. When those details differ across directories, Google has less confidence in which record is authoritative. Consistency across the sources that carry weight matters considerably more than the raw number of listings.
05Can you get us more Google reviews?+
I can build the system that asks at the right moment with the right message, and handle responses. I will not buy, incentivize or fabricate reviews, which risks the profile entirely.
06Do we need to be listed on hundreds of directories?+
No. A small number of authoritative citations carrying consistent details outperforms hundreds of low-quality listings, and bulk submission services frequently create the inconsistencies I later have to clean up.
07We have several locations. Does this scale?+
It does, and it works better with a defined template. The main risk with multiple locations is duplicating pages and profiles, which makes your own branches compete with each other.
08Can you fix a suspended Google Business Profile?+
Sometimes. It depends on the reason for suspension. I will tell you honestly whether reinstatement is realistic before taking it on, and creating a duplicate profile in the meantime makes recovery harder.
A deeper explanation

Why local search rewards operations more than marketing

Google ranks the local pack on three factors: relevance, distance and prominence. Only one of those is meaningfully influenced by your website. That is why a business with a modest site and a well-run Google Business Profile routinely outranks a competitor with the opposite arrangement.

Category selection constrains everything downstream

Your primary category tells Google what kind of business you are, and it limits which searches you are eligible to appear for at all. It is typically chosen once during setup by someone unfamiliar with how it will be used, then never revisited as the business evolves. Reviewing it against what currently ranks for your priority terms is frequently the most valuable single hour spent on local visibility.

Reviews are a process problem, not a campaign

Review recency and velocity both influence local ranking, which means a steady trickle outperforms an occasional burst. The businesses that do this well have a request that fires automatically at the right point in the customer journey. The ones that struggle rely on someone remembering during a quiet week that never arrives.

Citation cleanup is about weight, not volume

Bulk directory submission is largely obsolete and frequently harmful, because it creates inconsistent records that later need correcting. What matters is that the sources Google actually consults carry identical details. That is a smaller list than most citation services will sell you.

Location pages have to earn their existence

Duplicating a page and swapping the city name creates near-duplicate content and gives Google no reason to prefer either version. A real location page contains the team, the service area, local proof and directions. If your map pack position does not reflect the quality of your business, a short call will usually identify which of these is responsible.
